MY STORY
Sweetcakes Custom Cakes & Treats is owned and operated by Beth Hanock and specializes in custom made cakes for all occasions, individually decorated sugar cookies, decorated cake bites/pops and a wide variety of other custom made treats.
Beth started decorating cakes in 2004 as a hobby, while being a full-time teacher and mother to 2 small children. As her hobby progressed, colleagues and friends began asking her if she would be interested in making a cake for their special occasions. Stepping out of her comfort zone in 2005, she made her first wedding cake for a fellow teacher. That special event turned a hobby into a future career.
For the next 16 years, Beth continued to teach and create cakes and treats "on the side." After the pandemic, she decided to make a life-changing decision to leave teaching and pursue her dream of being a full-time bakery owner. In December 2021, Sweetcakes found a kitchen/workspace to rent @ the Pour@322 Coffeehouse, located in Belleville, IL. While she provides various cookies and treats to the coffee shop, as well as a variety of markets and boutiques, Sweetcakes specializes in custom orders for ALL occasions and events.
